Oakfield cleans house at Harmon Field

Congrats to the 4 riders and 3 ponies that went to Harmon Field over the weekend. Everyone one came home with at least one tri-colored ribbon and in most cases they came home with multiple. Way to go team Oakfield: Frankie, Lena, Lexie and Rawliegh!

Oak Manor 2’6″ Derby Winner!

It was a rainy weekend but that didn’t hold team Oakfield back. On day one every pony went home with a big tri-color ribbon. Day two was just as successful. And the big winner was Rawleigh and her pony Scout. Scout had been injured and this was his first horse show back in over 3 months. The show had the first of a series of 2’6″ hunter derbies on Saturday afternoon. The weather did not let up at all, but that didn’t stop Rawleigh and Scout. They took home the blue ribbon, and a little mud to go along with it. Congrats!

Starting the 2013 show season off with a bang!

Had the first Coastal Island Horse Show of the year over the weekend. The Oakfield team cleaned up. There were many Champions and Reserve Champions in the bunch. But the big winner was Lexie Townsend and Smarty. They ended up being Grand Reserve Champion of the entire show! Way to go!

Happy Holidays from Oakfield Farm!

Derby Time

Medal finals weekend ended up being more about the SCHJA Hunter Derby than the medals. Tunica and Kit entered their 3rd ever Hunter Derby at Highfields in Aiken, SC. They really came together and showed that they are Derby ready. With one of the highest handy round scores Kit and Tunica took 8th place out of the 32 horses entered in the derby. It made for a very exciting night! Go team Oakfield!

And the winner is!

Connor pony and Rawleigh took home the blue at the end of the year BRHJA horse show. They won the pony classic with a score of 82 in the 1st hunter round, and then held the lead with their handy round. Congrats! We are so proud of you both!

Octoberfest – Finding Nemo

We had a great time in Tryon at Octoberfest. We spent the day at an apple orchard, raced down zip lines, and oh yes, there was some horse showing and one amazing skit on horseback! 1st place for barn decorations and 2nd place for our skit. All the hard work paid off!
